Price of fame

LEE Young Ae has been hailed as the new queen of Korean drama serials following her powerful performance in the period show Dae Jang Geum or Jewel in the Palace (the 70-episode TV series which recently concluded its run on 8TV). The 34-year-old made a huge impression on her native South Korean as well as Asian and American television audiences portraying the historical figure of a determined girl who rises from the ranks of a palace servant to be the imperial physician.

According to Nanyang Siang Pau, fans have called it “a Korean drama that is truly meaningful.”

Prior to taking up the demanding role, Lee had been noticeably absent from the acting scene for close to two years. Now some sources claimed that the ultra-sweet actress had been living a life of luxury under the care of an identified wealthy man during her hiatus.

Lee is also said to have pocketed an obscene amount for playing Jang Geum.

Success does come at a price.

(--) how true is this? aigu aigu...

Ehem.. that unidentified wealthy man shud be me lah, Thehehehe...
I wished!

How that Young Ae still true and wish her success..

Depending on ur blog now to now about YAe's news since i "Pening" to log into her official wsite.

I don't really agree with the "unidentified wealthy man" thing. It's just rumours.

When you get as famous as Young Ae, this kind of rumours will come following you. If this is true, they should have produced at least some evidence - a photos, spy cam shots, etc.

YA is a true great actress, almost like a godess...

For me, she already a goddess. :-)

I think it's not uncommon for actresses to be "bought" by a wealthy man for a period of time.

I was disappointed with just the suggestion of it. Regardless, I am eager to know the truth, if it comes out.

Maybe it's just rumors but it's not unwarranted considering she doesn't have a boyfriend, she's not married, she doesn't have kids, and she is very beautiful.

I think it is different in asia countries even in korea to have your personal life exposed much as in western countries. the public tend to be very harsh coz this involved their image. company's especially involved in advertisement really care bout what public's opinion and something like this could ruin a person's carier.

But i believe that LYA is mature enough to know whats best for her, and I could only wish her happiness with the life she choose to have or the person to be with
