Lee Young-Ae became a promotion ambassador for the Pink Ribbon Campaign, which is aimed at the reduction of breast cancer. She received her appointment along with other stars such as Jeon In-Hwa, Nam Sang-Mi, Park Ye-Jin and Lee Hye-Sang at the Taepyeonghang headquarter office in YongSan, Seoul on April 11.
"Today I was freshly reminded of the seriousness of breast cancer. I will do what I can as a promotion ambassador to fight breast cancer," she said.
The Pink Ribbon Campaign is an attempt to remind Korean women of the importance of early diagnosis for the prevention of breast cancer. Korea has the highest death rate from breast cancer in the world, according to the survey conducted by the World Health Organization.
Lee Young-Ae will participate in various activities such as the 2005 Pink Ribbon Marathon to promote the prevention of breast cancer, along with other ambassadors like Jeon In-Hwa, Nam Sang-Mi and Lee Na-Young who was aboard and could not attend the ceremony.
Lee Young-Ae is currently busy shooting 'Sympathy for Lady Vengeance', Park Chan-Wook's upcoming film, where she plays Keum-Ja, the leading female who takes revenge on Choi Min-Shik.
